Liebe Tangofreunde
Vom 11. bis 20. August feiern wir den 8. Berlin Tango High. Mit dabei sind die regelmäßigen internationalen Gastlehrer von Nou Tango Berlin: Michelle und Murat Erdemsel, Martin Maldonado und Maurizio Ghella, Cristina und Homer Ladas, Maria Mondino und Ismael Ludman. In diesem Jahr organisieren wir zum ersten Mal nicht nur Workshops, sondern laden auch zu einem Rahmenprogramm mit Tango Cafes, Milongas und After-hour Parties ein. Der Monat August ist eine wundervolle Zeit in Berlin, die man nun mit einem attraktiven Tangoprogramm verbinden kann. Was genau wann wie und wo passiert geben wir in den kommenden Wochen bekannt.
Und auch vorher gibt es Gelegenheit Gastlehrer Workshops bei und zu besuchen: Im April und Mai laden Maria und Ismael wieder zu ihrer "Berlin Residency" Workshop-Reihe ein. Und Cristina und Homer unterrichten ein Intensiv-Seminar am 11.+12. Juni. Das Seminar ist auf 14 Paare beschränkt. Bei Interesse empfehlen eine frühe Buchung.

April & Mai * Berlin Residency
Maria Mondino und Ismael Ludman
Zum vierten Mal bereits laden Maria und Ismael zu der Reihe "Berlin Residency" bei Nou Tango Berlin ein. In 18 Workshops werden die Grenzen des Tango Argentino ausgekundschaftet, wobei die Basis einer guten Technik dabei nie aus den Augen verloren wird. Jeweils dienstags im April und Mai finden zwei WS statt, die sich thematisch in offene und geschlossene Tanzhaltung aufteilen. Der Fokus liegt auf dem Tango als sozialer Tanz.
19:00-20:30 Uhr - Stretching the borders (Laboratory) This series of workshops offers a deep and fundamental training in Tango elements and beyond. We'll go over most of the known and some new Tango elements, getting to know more about our bodies, our Tango possibilities and our willingness to play and connect. (intermediate/advanced)
20:45-22:15 Uhr - Stretching the borders (Social dancing) And we complete the evening by moving into more difficult territory: exploring the possibilities of making our dance grow into the limitations of a reduced space and an environment shared with (many) others. We will take an in-depth look at the close embrace and try to fill our dance with color and dynamic, in part by recognizing our dance as a social and a sharing phenomenon. (intermediate/advanced)

Cristina und Homer Ladas
Tango Phrasing, Tango Vals, Tango Milonga
Join Homer & Cristina for a musically filled weekend intensive. Beyond Homer playing his bandoneon and Cristina singing a few tango lyrics we will work on a variety of ideas including but not limited to:
Tango, Vals, Milonga Foundation Concepts, including Grounding, Rhythm, and Phrasing, Playing with the Fills, Flow & Freeze, Syncopated Pivot vs. No Pivot Baby Back Ochos & Hook Behinds, Rhythmically Engaged Right Turns, Milonga con Pitter-Patter, The Rhythmic vs. Melodic Volcada, One Very Rhythmic Close Embrace Alteration, and The Syncopated Vals Alteration.
This list is only an example of some of the material we will consider for the weekend intensive. The final class material will be subject to the discretion of the teachers but also open to discussion and change by the students.
